The Animal I have Become...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqds0B_meys&feature=related
Bigger. Better. Faster. Stronger. New-er and improved.
Some things in life remain the same, whilst others change. Yet the constant nurtured, and impressed on need that we have to be better than what we are, is an over-consumerized ideal that creates the want to be better than what we are. (ie. Be the Best you can Be)
Life begins as growth. A growth that is nurtured, fed by our wants and needs, and fostered by our surroundings. The amount of our physical growth is predetermined in the most part, and somewhat controlable, but what separates us from "animals" is the control that we have over our inner growth.
Hunt & Pack mentality, while prevalent, need not be the norm. Individuality and creativity, aspirations and dreams, do not have to equate to physical wants and needs. Externalizing our happiness gives the impression of a window to our soul, but not to the mirror of our dreams.
You have to find your status quo, your id, and be truly happy with yourself before wanting to improve what others think you should. Internalized workings are the mechanics that need to maintained ever much moreso than our exterior mobilities, or in my layman terms...keep the engine running and the wheels will still turn.
Darwinsim at it's finest...short and sweet, this is the animal that I have become.
Static, stoic, and true.
I am like I've written, not overly or overtly fluid at this time.
Maybe next time.

Canuckism
Loud and Proud is what 2010 has brought to the Canadian fold.
Our Winter Olympics have shown a resolve and displayed an inherent patriotism that we all knew we had, but was always overshadowed or underplayed in comparison to that of most other countries.
Stoically demure, our Canadian demeanor often left us portrayed as quiet, polite, and laid-back as a country, but finally national pride has been brought forth with the travails of Canadian atheletes and the hosting of our "best known season's" games.
Contrary to mis-concepted beliefs, we're not earning medals or popularity in Maple Tree piercing, Polar Bear riding, Beaver Tail eating, or Reindeer roping, but in 2010 our world-class Atheletes are now being recognized with medals that most of us always knew they deserved.
Patriotically, I might add, in a sea of red and white.
The Olympics have done for this country, what in my opinion a number have politicians have not been able to do in my lifetime:
Which is to bring together, if for but 2 weeks, a country that can put aside:
the Recession,
the $ of gas,
War,
Politics,
and the reality's that make the world go round, in favor of focussing on International competition.
Competition, that demonstrates atheletes of vying countries can unite us into a kindred spirit.
In a world that can normally be viewed as being run in bi-color mode, focussed on money and blood, (Green and Red), we have know been provided a different taste.
Red and White.
Heart and Spirit.
National colors that make us all...
Proud to be Canadian.
Proud to be Canucks.
We don't need the marketing, to "Believe", but it helps remind us, that we did, we do. and we will.
We also don't need to own the podium, because based on what We, as Canadians, have displayed on the World-stage since the 2010 Winter Olympics since they began, that very simply put...
We ARE the Podium.

Belief & Faith
*Faith;
Faith is the confident belief or trust in the truth or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing. The word "faith" can refer to a religion itself or to religion in general. As with "trust", faith involves a concept of future events or outcomes, and is used conversely for a belief "not resting on logical proof or material evidence.Informal usage of the word "faith" can be quite broad, and may be used in place of "trust" or "belief."
Faith is in general the persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true. It is the belief and the assent of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another, based on his or her authority and truthfulness. The English word faith is dated from 1200–50, from the Latin fidem, or fidēs, meaning trust, akin to fīdere, which means to trust.*
This being said, the only thing I believe that is worse than the loss of faith in oneself, is the concurrent or causal loss of faith of a loved one.
Knowing that to err is human is often a crutch, but one that differentiates us from the beasts and elevates us to be that much richer than those around us. Addictions and frailties, weaknessses and misjudgements, are what truly separate us from what Darwinists believe to be the lower species.
That would be why Forgiveness is Human, not necessarily Divine.
Being an Alcoholic (now C&S for 10+ years), I more than realize how faith in those you love is by far more important than expecting any resolution from above.
We fight our own battles, and achieve our own goals through the efforts we exert for goals we wish to attain. The power of faith, and belief, of a loved one strengthens any resolve that helps in conquering any foe, any challenge, any addiction, and any misjudgement(s) that we are prone to have.
Belief in oneself is Important.
A strong internal/moral compass guides us to follow our better judgement, but even still, the expressed opinions of those you love remind you of the very needed "kick in the ass" to reset socially impaired views and habitual complexes that we/I have.
Addictions are the resultant need of dealing with situations when we don't know how; and no matter the addiction, they cause, and are, impairements that feed on misguided judgements. This is why they developed 12 step programs, and why psychologists and psychiatrists are so busy.
I never needed the 12 step program, but every day is still one-step at a time.
This is Why::: Faith of your loved-one is Paramount.
Since 1987, I have had the Luck of having the Love of a great woman.
First as a friend, then as a love, now as a wife. The faith that she has given me over the years is a gift that I can only hope to be worthy of in a lifetime. Good luck comes in 3's, but any single gift has made my life that much richer...and the loss of any of the 3 would be profound; which would invoke why...
I wear my heart on my sleeve, but sometimes words get in the way. Sometimes what I consider "Rightings" are here to be made; these are my expressions of my thoughts and they make me no less a man than I was 5 minutes ago. I believe in what I say, and I say what I believe.
The Belief that I can repay the Faith that my wife has given me is what keeps me going, but the Faith knowing that I will is what truly makes every day a treasure to wake up beside her, knowing that my path is already laid out before me.
